Dear Family,
So this week has been a rollercoaster. Literally a
rollercoaster.
Tuesday: we go the hospital because my companion couldn´t
walk on sunday.
Wednesday: out of the mission we go to get her MRI done.
Thursday: back to the hospital to see what´s up. We learn
that she´s gotta have knee surgery and Sunday night we´ll be staying in the
hospital.
Friday: preparations for Luis´ baptism.
Saturday: Luis gets baptized!!!! It was soooo cool! The
baptism was at 6pm and it was great. The best part is that the person who gave
us the reference came to the baptism. And he´s a Seventy. SO how did they know
each other? The Seventy came into town and needed and Uber taxi. So he orders
one and like every good missionary or servant of the Lord, he talked to Luis
about the church. from there we talked to him and he progressed until this day
and was baptized. He was so happy and we were sooo Happy. it was beautiful.
Sunday: We went to church, watched Luis get confirmed and went
off to the hospital at 6pm. We slept there, well kind of slept. You can´t sleep
well in a hospital when you forget your ear plugs.... it was a struggle.
Monday: 9:30am my companion goes into surgery and I GOT TO
GO WATCH!!!!! It was super cool!!!! I watch them play with her leg like a wet
towel and the scalpels and all the cool instruments. It was way awesome. They
cleaned out her knee in 30 mins and closed her up and that was it. Super fast,
super easy, and so totally wicked. I´ve decided I like medicine :) But the downside to it all is they made us
stay until the next day before we could leave. yuck. SO two nights in the
hospital couch wasn´t so fun. But is was all good.
Tuesday: we got out of the hospital and have to go back on
Friday to see what else my companion can do, but until then we´re stuck in the
house. Yikes. Don't worry. I wont go crazy.... hopefully.
So that´s the adventure of the week. Life´s good. The Gospel
is still true.
I love you all!!! I hope you have a great week!!!
Love,
Hermana Hyer
That WAS a roller coaster!
