Dear Fam,
Happy 4th of July to all of you!!! Man, this is probably the
one day of the year that I miss home. probably because out here I am not gonna
eat bbq sauce, Cuz its extremely hard to find. Sad day. But! we did have a
little get together with the sisters and President and Sister Mecham this
afternoon! It was a blast. We had hamburgers and did a piƱata, no fireworks but
that´s not a surprise. But all in all it´s been super fun!
This next week we´ll have a baptism. YAY!!! Luis is getting
baptized and is super ready. He understands the Gospel is a way that just
amazes me every single time we teach him. It´s been super fun and I have no
doubt that he will stay active all of his life. He loves the gospel and loves
the scriptures and is super ready to be baptized. And through all of this I´ve
learned a great lesson, the people who are prepared ot accept the gospel in
their lives, don´t have any problems with the commandments and willingly accept
to keep them without any other doubts. Its so cool that people like them
exist!!!
So, basically our lives as missionaries is a blast. Why?
because we keep the commandments, follow the rules, and work hard. That is
literally the key to missionary work. Well, and you need a sincere desire to
serve the Lord too. With all of your heart might mind and strength, but it´s
worth it. I don´t understand why young adults these days don´t understand these
simple things. In fact, something sad is happening in the mission. This next
transfer aka 2 weeks (what??? that flew by) we will be receiving 7 sisters and
2 elders. Yes, you read that right, only 2 elders..... How sad is that? That
means there are more young women going out to the field than young men right
now and we can´t do squat without the priesthood. So, I´m gonna personally ask
each of you who read this to help some young men and young women get excited
about a mission and go! Please? Thank you very much!!
I hope you all celebrate the American way and have an
excellent week!
Hermana Hyer
