Dear Fam,
Hey everyone! Happy to hear from you. It’s always a treat to
read my emails of the week and see what´s going on in the lives of you all.
Mexico is quite the adventure I must say. But first, as a disclaimer, Sorry for
not letting you all know that we changed our preparation day this week to
tuesday... I had every intent of doing so but I forgot, so sorry about
that. I hope none of you worried about
me because of it. I still love you all and won´t be ignoring you, I promise.
So, the adventures of the week. This week we found a new
investigator named Ismael who really wants to change and progress, so much so
that he went to general conference and afterwards wanted to know literally
everything that has to do with the church and how he can change. Super cool is an
understatement because things like this don´t usually happen to us. We also
found a less active this week that nobody had any idea about and we found him
because my companion had a hankering for bread. We invited him to come to
conference and he came and loved it and said he wants us to visit him all of
the time and will be back next week. Yay for miracles!!! I am so blessed as a
missionary!!!
More fun of the week, guess who is starting to tan? you
guessed it, Me. I have joined the farmers tan club and my membership is a platinum.
You should see my lines. My little sunscreen gluesitck has become my best
friend this week. It’s pretty awesome.
General Conference was amazing as usual and I got to see it
in English which was a real treat and a privilege. You never know how much you
enjoy hearing the prophet´s or the apostles voice until you can’t anymore. The
talks were amazing but for me, Holland takes the cake. His expression of God´s
love for us was exactly what I needed to hear in those moments. I am so grateful
that we have apostles and a prophet who teach us the will of the Lord and help
us become better disciples of Christ!
Finally, today we went to Coyoacan with a member named
Elizabeth and it was a blast. We ran around a giant cathedral and also went to
the Frida Kahlo museum. It was awesome. There were pieces by her and Diego
Rivera who was her husband and the Museum was in their house. My favorite piece
that we saw is called La Quebrada by Diegro Rivera and was a gift to Frida
Kahlo 2 years before she died. And my favorite quote from her was "Who
needs feet when I´ve got wings to fly!" I love art now and it was such a
treat to go and learn more about Mexican artists and culture!
I love Mexico and I love being a missionary!
