Cambios!!! Who woulda thought?

Hey Fam!!!

Glad to hear that you guys are back into the swing of things. Life´s been real interesting here in Padierna and in Del Valle.

So here´s the scoop, Hna Hernandez is now in Cafetales!!! WHHHHAAAATTTT????? Crazy. so she´ll be taking care of my old ward. It´ll be awesome! And I´m with Hna Ponce in Padierna. Super cool! We´ll be tearing it up here in Padierna for the 15 of September which is, for those of you who don´t remember, Mexican Independence day. Double cool!

This week was super interesting. We went to Del Valle again and surprise! They decided to take Hna Ponce out and put Elders in. Crazy. And so Saturday we spent cleaning and cleaning and cleaning the department and getting everything ready there so that life would be good for the newbies. And the recent convert of Hna Ponce gave us Mahi Mahi and other fish for free. Of which we made sushi. BUT!!! Before that I met in person a lovely fish named, BARRACUDA!!!! Obviously, I couldn´t contain myself and started sing the song Barracuda from (someone) and the Heartbreakers. (I don´t remember everything...) It was legendary. And awesome.

Then we made sushi today and it was lots of fun. Hna Hernadez was really sad to go from Padierna but we knew it was gonna happen because of her knee. But i know she´ll have a blast in Cafetales.

I love you all and will be giving updates on how life goes!

Love,

Del Valle

Dear Fam,

School is starting here too which means, TRAFFIC. but all is well because we don’t have very far to go anyway. SO this week was real interesting. I basically found california, as my pictures will show you. We went friday and saturday to Del Valle, which is the area of Hna Ponce to work a little bit because they haven`t had missionaries there for about 3 weeks, which here in Mexico means, everything has fallen to pieces. Yup. That`s it. we helped lots of people those days and visited many who haven’t been visited in months. It was so awesome!!!

Sorry i don’t have too much to say today. All i know is that next week is transfers and I am so not ready for them to take Hna Ponce from us. We are literally the happiest trio in the history of the mission and i will miss both her and hna hernandez if any of us gets transferred. I know President Mecham will receive revelation but I wanna keep them!!!! And that`s the truth. The pics have much to say so enjoy them!

Love,
Hermana Hyer

TRIO!!!!

Dear Fam,

Hey all! So this week was an adventure. For all of you who went on a mission or understand mission lingo, I and Hna Hernandez, we are now in trio. That`s right, three sister missionaries. Meaning a total of five sister missionaries in our ward. WHAT??? Crazy right? Why are we in trio you ask? Because Hna Ponce`s companion, Hna Padilla, had to go home because she`s been super sick her whole mission. She has some bacteria that nobody knows what it is but that makes her throw up all of the food she eats. Super sad. So anyways, we have adopted Hna Ponce and we`re really happy about it. She`s a sister who came to the mission in my generation so to speak, but I`ve got a month more because she `s a native speaker and skipped the whole learn spanish in CCM show. We all get along great so life`s a party.

This week we got to have an excellent time because we had an activity. We had a Family Home Evening at the church on Saturday and it was a blast. We played a game about the Book of Mormon and if your team couldn`t answer the questions, you had to play a minute to win it game to keep your spot on the board. We made three categories of questions and the hard ones got us some really fun games that had to be played and we had a really good time. I loved it and on Sunday in our meeting the Bishop could not stop talking about how great it was. It`s good to know that we had some success. Plus, two of the less active families of the ward showed up to the activity, AND church the next day. It was awesome.

So basically, life is great. I love it here and it amazes me how fast time flies. I hope you all enjoy the upcoming school nonsense whilst I enjoy my mission.
Love you all!!!

August 8
Dear Fam,

It`s Olympic madness here in Mexico and the only thing that really matters to them is, you guessed it, Futbol! (Soccer) It`s literally the only thing I hear about. Sad because there are so many other good sports like Swimming and track and field and literally everything else but Futbol is the only thing that matters. I hope to get updates on Swim sometime but I don`t count on it. Water`s not a big thing here.

So, this week we had the opportunity to climb the Xitle which is the volcano that`s here in our area. It was beautiful. I Will be sending you guess the pics so you can see instead of just imagine the beauty of the mountain. It was exactly what i needed. I have missed the mountains soo much but I finally got my fix. I hope we can go and scale it again in a couple of weeks when my companion`s knee is better and we can go and breathe some fresh air.

This week we also had our zone conference and as usual, it was awesome. This time we talked about our own self worth as sister missionaries because our zone is all sisters except for the zone leaders and the district leaders and their companions. 8 elders vs 24 sisters. It`s nuts but we have a good time.

So that`s the report of the week. it wasn`t a very exciting one but I`m sure I`ll have more to tell next week.
I love you all!!!
Cuidense!

And we've finished July

 Dear Fam,
They say that time flies when you are having fun. That statement is utterly and completely true. Hna Hernandez and I have too much fun despite all the wonderful opposition that gets put in our path. Good golly, she is hilarious and our friend the Adversary is working overtime to knock us down. I say this because today they took out fluid from my companion´s knee. She pushed it a little too hard this week and made a movement she shouldn´t have so it pinched who knows what and her knee filled with fluid. But through it all we have a good time.
So this week we had the unique opportunity to sing the battle hymn of the republic for the FSY that they had in our stake on wednesday. It’s an ensemble that the mormon tabernacle choir does and it turned out really really cool. We sang for the teenagers and then we left but you should have seen their faces. They thought it was the coolest thing and then on Sunday one of the youngins got up to bear their testimony and said that our song inspired her to get ready to go on a mission. How cool is that??? I love that through the simplest things we can inspire others to do good things. Although sometimes I feel like I´m still the same old sister hyer that left 12 1/2 months ago from Sandy I know that somehow I get to help people through my example. People sing praises of the missionaries and I hope I´ve been the kind of missionary that inspires others to do good.
I just want to testify that I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the process by which we can be perfected and become worthy to live in the presence of our Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon can work miracles in our lives if we read it daily and abide by its precepts. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for all of our sins, weaknesses, sicknesses, and for all of the pain that we can feel in our lives. I know that He can heal us if we let Him and that through Him all things are possible. Of these things I testify, In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

With all love and sincerity,
Hna Hyer
