Centro and Christmas

Dear Fam,

It was nice to see you guys yesterday even though you felt a little weird but it´s probably just jitters for getting home.

This week was a good week over all. We had the Baptism on Saturday and it was great. The musical number we did actually turned out alright and the whole Young Women’s group showed up to sing for Daniela and even the Young Men´s president showed up for Luis, which is rare so that was awesome. Their whole family came too so that was really nice for them. It was definitely the longest baptism i have ever been too but it was cool to see the ward do their part. We got a really good response from the Wonder Kids so that was nice.

As for the rest of the week it was a little rough. Hna Gifford got really sick on Friday. So sick that her fever was up to 38 degrees Celsius which is apparently very dangerous. I´m not sure how much that is in Fahrenheit but its big according to the Mexcian people. Saturday and Sunday it was really difficult to find people and that wasn’t fun but we got through it safe and sound.

However today at the center it was really fun. We ate some great food and had some serious fun. Luis, Daniela and Monica their mom took us there and it was really fun. We went shopping and it was exactly how the describe it in the Shopping Song by BNL. I bought myself a Catrina and a Catrin that are actually really cool looking and I hope they make it home without any problem.  You´ll have to wait a week or so to see the rest of the stuff i bought.

I love you guys and hope to write on monday but if not, I´ll see you soon!!!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

And they shall be Baptized

Dear Fam,

So life was a ball these past 2 days. I have a lot to say even though it was only 2 days.
Saturday was very eventful because we had an activity called Viaje a Hawaii. It´s a cool activity because we make one of the rooms like a plane and then we take off, we crash and everyone dies. SO then we welcome them to the spirit world and give them a tour of the places they could end up after the Millenium. We had missionaries as actors in each of the rooms and they exhibited the glory and what they did to get there. After their presentation we had a Q&A session to see if they had any questions. After we visited each glory we returned to the plane and we sent them back to earth because the ambulance rescued them. It turned out really cool. We had a small turnout but we saw a change of perspective in all of the people that showed up. We had a few investigators there including the Wonder Kids and it was a really good time. We basically spent all morning at the church preparing but it was worth it.
Sunday, we went to church and had a good time too. Hna and President Mecham showed up after church to deliver Hna Gifford´s christmas package and we have been very happy with what they sent. Plus we have a sister in our ward that loves us and served her mission in the states so as an early Christmas present, she bought us a sixpack of cream soda, mac and cheese, cookies and toffee peanut popcorn. We were really happy because each of those items are difficult to find here in Mexico and they were delicious. Sunday was also a good time because the Wonder Kids had their interviews and passed them (not like we were worried or anything) so they will for sure be getting baptized on Saturday the 24th. I am soooooo excited because they will most likely be my last converts in the mission and definitely my best ones. They are so in tune with the Spirit that i thank my Father in Heaven each and every day for the opportunity I have to know and teach them.
So life is great. Love you all and I hope you have a great week!!!
Merry Christmas!!!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

The Longest Week Ever

Dear Fam,

So this week has been LONG and awesome but definitely long. Too many days straight. I´m writing so late because it was party time at 11 today as a mission so i´ve got to write afterwards, i.e. now. Cuz the party was literally all day long. Sports and movies and fun. It was awesome. Lots of food and we watched the new Star Wars movie! Not the one that came out yesterday, the one that came out last Christmas. It was worth literally every second. I was Really really happy with it. Totally a tear jerker with Hans and i almost cried but it was awesome nonetheless. I will have to see it in English when I get home because I didn´t catch everything but it´s good.

So the pics will explain my life as a missionary so I´ll just describe what happened according to the pics.
Nevermind, just bullet points then And a short synopsis.
So,  rundown of this week´s happenings in no particular order,
1. FHE 15 people- we had a great time and helped our new investigators find friends.

2. Ward Christmas party. frida and alex, singing christmas carols Pics with everyone. - we found out that we are loved. frida and alex are grand kids that may become our investigators, they really didn´t want us to leave the party because they wanted to hang out with us.

3. Hulk hands- they are Alex´s and we took pics with them.

4. Intercambios ermita- with Hna Martinez and Hna Valdez

5. Wonder Kids- Our new amazing investigators, their names are Luis (16) and Daniela (14). Their story is rough. The mom, who´s name is Monica, was a less active that was married to a non member who died of brain cancer a month or so ago and now she has decided to become active and the first time we saw her she told us that she needs her kids baptized as soon as possible. Amazing, the second week they go to church a member walks up and asks, > Luis can you pass the sacrament? "i´m an investigator." was his response. That day President teaches with us and says "those are the most prepared kids i have ever seen" <Do you understand the magnitude of that sentence? He taught hundreds of people on his mission and for him to say that, means it´s a really big deal. He told us they can be baptized whenever, so that´s next week. we made cookies with them and brought Dana and she is now Daniela´s best friend. They are literally the best thing that has ever happened to me on the mission and they were worth the whole wait of my mission.

6. Guadalupe day- as a fun part of the week we came home early sunday night because of guadalupe day. It was nuts because we got home at 5:30 and there were already drunk people outside and there were fireworks all night long... Good stuff right?

7. How do you live without internet?- turns out, the new generation of kids can´t imagine living without internet or Xbox. Dana, the bishop´s daughter, has no idea what a board game is and i felt old and sad.

8. We acknowledge that the servant´s presence they don’t know how to react.- Luis and Daniela have a cleaning lady and when we said hi to her and presented ourselves, she didn´t know how to act. it was really funny because her face was like. "Are they talking to me?" because nobody does...

9. Lady from salt lake- So we had a shadow on tuesday this week that came to all of our lessons and interviewed our investigators. It was way fun. Her name is Angela and she is 25, served in Panama 7 years ago and works for the Church Research section of the missionary program and came to do a study on how the investigators are receiving the teachings in all the world. Cool right? it was fun.

10. cleaning the pack rat room- We helped a sister clean out her 8 year old daughters room of all the freaking toys and i realized how glad i am that mom never allowed us to be pack rats. My word, that room is an organized person’s nightmare. We worked for 2 hours and didn´t even get half done. it was crazy and I learned a life lesson so it was worth it.

11. Chilaquiles drug us- so we ate some chilaquiles and they made the both of us a little loopy. We have no idea why but that’s what it is.

12. expensive pizza- we got taken to pizza with real meat on it and it was delicious.

So this week was a blast. You guys should check Hna Mecham´s facebook to see some of the other stuff that went down during the party.

Love you all and I´ll be writing again on monday so we´ll see you then!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

December 6, 2016

Dear Fam,

Hey everyone! Life´s a ball here in Jardines de Ermita. Sorry I didn´t write yesterday, it was our monthly Leader Counsel so P-day is now today instead of yesterday. Rough, and Another P-day issue is that I won´t be writing you until next Friday. Why? Because that´s when we will have our Christmas party so P-day will be then not next Monday. And next monday in the day of the Virgin of Guadalupe which means, life is gonna be nuts anyway and nothing will be open. Yay for traditional holidays in Mexico! SO, don´t expect an email until next Friday. That´s all.

So, the world is now full of the "Lighting the World" program by the Church and it´s been really fun thus far. It´s called Ilumina El Mundo in spanish and it´s been super fun. Making an extra effort to do service has been really rewarding. We haven´t really kept with the program but we are doing service every day. For example, the 1st we went and painted a house as a district and it was really fun!!! We had a great time. And then yesterday, I did something I have never done before. We went to a less active´s house who is also a recent convert and her daughter had a makeup exam and need to finish her project on somebody´s face and that somebody ended up being me. Totally out of my comfort zone but worth it because the recent convert´s daughter and her husband which aren´t members now trust us and will be listening to us. So i´ll be sending a pic in this email to show you how it went. I mean it looks good but i am way happier in my own skin.

Speaking of individual worth, I feel like sometimes in life we decide that we aren´t worth much but i´m here to tell each and every one of you that actually we are worth a ton in Heavenly Father´s eyes. He sacrificed His Only Begotten Son so that you and I could have the chance to come back and live with Him forever. And He sends each and every one of us proof of who we are and what we are worth through other people. I´d like to invite all of you to recognize the worth of others by serving and doing the Lighting the World program. Please do it!

So, that´s all for this week. Enjoy the pics and serve diligently!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

Hello Reality

Dear Fam,

Hey everyone! Hope life is great and home and i hope you stuffed your faces for me. Cuz, thanksgiving doesn´t exist here in mexico so we just taught people about it and made hand turkeys about how we can show our Heavenly Father that we are grateful through our daily actions.

So me and my companion are having sooooo much fun here in Jardines. We are working so hard to make our part of the goal of 100 Baptisms and it´s been rough but we´ve seen miracles through our efforts. We´ve seen people progress that we were sure that weren’t going to and we´ve been able to help families come back to church. One thing that´s really cool is that Hermana Gifford has already served here in Jardines and it was for 6 months so it´s a miracle that she´s come back here to help me out. She was here for 6 months and then went to bosques for 6 months and now is back here. One year and two areas. It´s way rare that something like that happens. But we are soooo happy here.

But, reality check, I have basically no time left to have fun in the mission and in mexico. It really hit me this week how short our service to the Lord really is as missionaries. However, how truly worth it it is to serve. I have learned so many things and been able to help so many people that otherwise i would not have met or served. My whole perspective on life has changed and my relationship with myself and with the Lord is completely different. How blessed I am to have this opportunity and i hope and pray that Others will understand the greatness of the calling and choose to serve.

Life´s great! And I´m loving life and the people here in mexico as a servant of Lord.
Love you all!

El Ultimo Cambio

Dear Fam,

Hey everyone. My last cambio and i will be with Hna Gifford from Seattle Washington. We still have our same assignment and life is gonna be nuts but it will be fun. Hna Gifford has already been here in Jardines so she will be a great help in all that we need to do here. Life is gonna be great!

As for this week. It was a real reality check. I mean seriously. Hna Escalante goes home wednesday and left my side here in the mission today. Life is crazy!!! I don´t think i can really handle all of this but I know that the lord will help me with adjusting and saying focused while i´m still here.

Our area has lots of potential and as a mission we had the goal of 100 baptisms in December and we are working so hard to accomplish them. We have a few investigators that we are pretty sure that they will progress to a baptism. Elizabeth is one of them that came to church yesterday and I am really excited to see how everything goes.

Not much to say this week but just know that we are working really hard and getting lots of things done. I hope you all have fun on Thursday with Thanksgiving!!!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

My companion goes home in a week...

Dear Fam,

Hey everyone. Sorry that this month has been a Little crazy about which days i´m writing home and which days i´m not. as crazy as my writing Schedule has been is as crazy as my life in the mission has been. Life has been a rollercoaster with my new assignment so I apologize for the craziness. Sometimes i just don´t have a choice as to what is going to happen so please bear with me.

This week was nuts. We had two zone conferences to teach and participate in and then exchanges and planning meetings and whatnot. If you look up on Hermana Mecham´s facebook you´ll get to see the incredibly fun exercise called "Chicken Fat" which you can also look up on YouTube and do for yourself if you´d like. It´s way fun. and it was super funny to see how hard it was for some of the missionaries to do it. Basically it´s a six minute workout and it was funny to see how hard it was for some to do it. Luckily for me, it was easy.

Today I´m writing you all because later we´ll be off to the Mecham´s house to decorate their huge christmas tree with all the other sister training leaders (of the which there are 10) and it will be lots of fun. Hopefully next week I´ll get the pictures to you. And speaking of pictures, today I´ll be sending the ones of Coyoacán for\mo Dia de los Muertos. SO don´t worry. you´ll be seeing lots of me. There are some cool offerings and giant skeletons and everything so stay tuned.

As for how i feel. I´m freaking out a Little bit because as the title says, my companion goes home in a week from today. Exactly a week. I have until monday morning with her and then we´re changed and I have a new companion and I´ll be starting my very last transfer.... AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It´s driving me crazy! I never ever thought this day would come but apparently, it´s almost here. I´m so not ready but i´ve learned that if i work hard the Lord will do the rest.

See you all next week!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

What week are we on?

Dear Fam,

So as promised, I`ll be telling you guys all about the good stuff that we did on tuesday after I finished writing you all. We went to Coyoacan again and saw some really cool stuff. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I`ll be getting you guys the pictures next week. Sorry!
However, Coyoacan was really cool. Around this time of year they make giant sculptures of paper mache in the shape of skeletons and dress them up and paint them like their ancestors. It`s super cool. And they also put up a bunch of offerings to the dead which are really cool too. The offerings are compiled of Marygolds, because thats the flower of the dead, all of the food the deceased enjoyed and also things that are symbolic for them. Like if they were a farmer they but their tools on the offering and whatnot. They also tend to put their pictures of the person who died on their offering and then they spend all day and all night partying with their dead. Normally, they go to the cemetery and put their offering right on top of the grave and party all night there but here in Ciudad de Mexico, they don`t have cemeteries close to home so they put their offerings in their houses and leave their doors open all night so the dead can visit them. It`s awesome!

Funny story of when we went. We got ice cream while we were there and when we were about to leave, we walked past an elderly couple and the lady turned around and shouted in perfect english "ICE CREAM!!!!!" I laughed pretty hard because 1. its very rare that we see people from the US and 2. they had the same obsession of ice cream that we had. As they walked off I heard the lady talking about where they were going to find some ice cream and whatnot and I just had to laugh. Some things just never change.

This week we had some ups and downs and over all we saw a miracle at church. We had a couple of investigators that we didn`t count on show up this week at it was awesome. They just showed up out of the blue in response to all of the work we`re doing. The Lord really does help us out when we work hard.
I hope you all have a great week!

Halfway through the transfer already?

Dear Fam,

Hello everyone i am glad but more shocked to report that we are already halfway through this transfer. That´s right folks, time is literally flying. it couldn’t fly faster even if you chucked an alarm clock from a jet´s window or you catapulted it from one of the pumpkin catapults that are becoming more and more popular lately.

So this week was fun. We ate a delicious hamburger and cake with one of our investigators named Maru and it was fun. We had a really cool activity this week in the stake where we did family history. it was awesome and i am now hooked. I helped a new member do her tree and it was soo fun. At the beginning of the activity i was real frustrated because our tree has been seriously messed with because of the millions of duplicates we have thanks to all the work others are trying to do but I learned some cool tricks about how I can fix the mess when I get home. But most of all, the joy of helping this sister find her great great grandparents and be able to take a name to the temple was the coolest thing in this world. The spirit of elias is awesome I´m really excited to spend my Sundays doing family history work.

That´s all for this week.
I´ll let you know all about the dead traditions we´ll celebrate today and tomorrow.

Hermana Hyer

Dear Fam,

Hey you guys!!!! Hope life´s treating everyone well back at home. This week has been quite the rollercoaster for us here in Jardines de Ermita. We run around way too much and i end up being dead tired at the end of the week. However, we´ll need to dig real deep this week because there is a lot of things planned that we need to get done and P day will be tuesday next week... Yikes!!! Let´s just hope i get some good sleep in this week. Not likely but there´s no hurt in trying.

So this week was rather interesting. I´m getting to know my new area a little bit better and I´m less and less lost as we run around town. It´s nice because that means I can be of more help to my companion than how i have been last week. Because leading an area is a mess sometimes. especially when you run out of options of where to go and there is not another head that has any idea of the work in that area.

We were able to find two new investigators this week and that was great. Roman and Elizabeth are great people who really have the desire to learn the Gospel so that was really fun to meet and find them. We also got to try some real Pan de Muerto this week that the Bishop´s wife made and it was waaaaay better than anything we buy in the stores here. I don´t think i will ever buy that pan in a store ever again because it does not even compare with the real thing.

This week was also Stake conference in Ermita and it was awesome.  The thing that really got to me is that if we don´t share with others what we know or help others, we cannot be saved. Period. We have to help others because that´s what Christ would do and we have to become like Christ. That´s the whole point to our life here on Earth. Mind Blown. Well, at least for me. I hope to be able to continue to help others, member and nonmembers throughout my life so that I can become More like Christ day by day and I invite you to do so also.

I love you all! Have a great week!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

Praying your guts out

Dear Fam,

Hey you guys! Looks like life is fun back at home.

The mission is the same fun as it usually is. I´m getting to know the members and the area and my companion and whatnot. As usual when one is new to the area all of the members and investigators pick on them to say all of the prayers. Thus the title of my email is very accurate. I prayed a whole bunch this week probably topping my record number of prayers in a day. It was really interesting.

So remember when I showed you all Del Valle and how modern and new it was? Well it´s the same deal here in Jardines de Ermita. Not quite as extreme in the newness of everything but it is probably the nicest of all of my areas. Our ward is a bunch of people who are really well off. The streets are huge and busy and we have a whole bunch of malls and big stores here. And there are no mountains... :( It´s flatter than a table here and it´s nice but I miss the ups and downs of Padierna. Our area is rather large because we cover 4 metro stations and it´s fun running around here and there.

Hna Escalante and I get along really well too. This morning we did the face masks that Mom had sent me and it was really fun. We´re a good team and we get things done.

There´s not much I can say because I still don´t know much, but all I can say is I know this will be a great transfer.

Love,

Hermana Hyer

Jardine de Ermita, my new home

Hey everyone! good to hear from you all again. Time just keeps on flying. I can´t even tell which day is which anymore and it´s driving me a little crazy but all is well. Life is really good in the mission field. Every single day is full of a whole bunch of things to do and the coolest part is that every single minute is focused on helping others. I love that the service we give is the most important part of my life as a missionary because it makes me feel great that i can help others.

This week was awesome. The highlights are that Mauro got baptized!!! WAAAAHHHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man it was really super exciting. His dad wasn´t all that jazzed about the idea when Mauro told him but in the end, he came to the baptism along with his brothers, their wives, his nieces and nephews and his mom. It was awesome. The spirit was so strong and President Mecham showed up. The Bishop was tickled pink when he realized that President came and was really excited to baptize Mauro. Then on Sunday, Mauro was confirmed and his mom came with him. Mauro was so excited to receive the Holy Ghost and his mom loved the services. Also, another couple that we recently contacted came to church and loved it. This week was the Primary Program so it was extra special.

And then comes the bad news, I have been transferred from Padierna. So sad!!! Things were finally getting really good there. The members loved us, they accompanied us on visits, we had lots of potential baptisms and new investigators who are really progressing. But I´ve heard that Jardines de Ermita is a really great area as well. It´s super fun to know that I’ll be sent somewhere where we don´t have to start from scratch. And my new companion is Hermana Escalante. She´s from Sonora and is almost done with her mission. She´s only got 6 weeks left, YIKES!!!! So I´ll be her last companion. We kind of know each other because we both were in Cafetales at the same time but we didn´t we each other much so we´ve got a lot to learn about one another. What´s funny about all this is that I´ve never been in two areas of the same stake. I´m always changing and running around. It´s fun to be able to see more of Mexico! But we´re back to a really flat area, very far from the mountains :( but whatever. I’ll see some mountains soon.

And that´s it for the week!!! I hope you all have a good week and have fun. I know the Lord will help you if you have struggles and I know that if we rely on Him everything will work out. Love you all!!!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

General Conference

Dear Fam,

Hey you guys! Conference as usual was awesome!!! I love when they speak to us. It´s the best thing in the mission field. Obviously there is no puzzle making but its really cool to spend a couple of hours listening to people speak English for a change.

So conference was cool but I´d also like to tell you about the miracles we saw this week. One of them is that Mauro´s family has decided to listen to us and go to his baptism. His mom and cousin came with him to the Sunday morning session of General Conference and they said that they loved it. I love seeing the reactions of nonmembers to conference. They are awestruck by the sheer power of the talks that are given. It´s awesome to be able to testify of the truth and show the world that God hasn´t stopped talking to man.

Some of my favorite talks were those by Elder Bednar, Elder Rasband, Elder Oaks, Elder Ballard and Elder Erying to name a few. Really, conference was a spiritual banquet and there is lots to learn and emphasize but I dont have time nor words to describe it all. However, I did love the theme of being worthy and repentance. We can truly be ready for the final day if we put in practice the Doctrine of Christ daily, we can truly come to be the people that the Lord wants us to be. It´s all about improvement and progression. As long as we keep on progressing we can be sure that we are on the right track. I hope you all put in practice you´re own revelation that you received in conference and I know that through diligence, we can keep on improving towards perfection.

I love you all and hope you have a great week!!!

And the heavens came down

Dear fam,

Hey! i hope you all had a great week. This week was really great. And as the title says, the heavens fell upon us this week. Man it has rained sooo hard!! look at hna esteban´s shoes. They literally have foam coming out of them. we got real wet on friday and coming home was a nightmare because the streets become lakes when it rains. All of the rain from the mountain comes down and floods all of the streets. The gutters becomes rivers and I´ve even seen them pull rocks down from the mountain. Its cool and scary and awesome and wet all at the same time.

This week was also zone conference and it was great. As always, we talked a lot about obedience. And yet again the Spirit confirmed in my heart that obedience is really the only way to happiness. And strict obedience brings miracles. And it really does. We´ve been really obedient this whole transfer and yesterday a miracle occurred. We´ve been teaching a teenager named Mauro and yesterday his dad didn´t want to let him go to church. We tried to convince him and it seemed like he wasn´t going to let him go but in the end Mauro came to church. It was awesome! I was super happy to see him there and see him grow more in the Gospel. It may not seem like that big of a deal to you guys but for me it was.

Women´s Conference was awesome and was exactly what I needed to hear. The General Authorities seem to always have the answers but I know that who truly has the answers is the Holy Ghost. The General Authorities are just much better at listening to him than we are. I am super excited for this weekend because it will be another Spiritual Marathon. I hope you are all looking for your answers in conference and know that if we listen hard, the Spirit will tell us everything we need to hear.

I love you all and hope your week is excellent!

Independence Day!!!

Dear Fam,

So this week was a blast and you all should know why!! If not read the title of the email. That`s right. Mexcian Independence day. Man, it was AWESOME!!!! We had a blast! So we live with a member and she has a whole bunch of traditional mexcian garb from a bunch of different cities so she lent each of us something and we all dressed up and did makeup (eww but it was necessary) and ate tacos dorados and some of the sisters presented some of the traditional dances that they know and it was awesome. I had a blast. this whole weekend was an interesting time but we got such a kick out of everything. Really, there`s not much to say. just take a look at all of the pics. However, it looks like not all of them are going to download so next week I promise to send you more.

We had a miracle this week. Rocio and her family, which is a less active family with whom i`ve been working with for months, finally came to church yesterday and she said she loved it. WAHOOOOO!!!! You guys have no idea how happy i was when i turned around to see her and her family come into the chapel. Man, it was beautiful and my heart is sooo full. I hope that she keeps coming and gets stronger and stronger in the process. Rescuing the lost sheep is just as satisfying as finding new ones. So help out your less actives. all you have to do is love them and listen to them and never give up. it`s not that hard. So help em out will ya?

I love you all and hope you have an awesome week!
Love,

Hermana Hyer

Trio again???

So, this week has been real interesting. Why? because we are in trio again. President Mecham accepts all of the temporaries while they wait for their visas and this week one left for their mission and so there were some big changes in the mission. We now have Hna Esteban, who if you recall, shared the area of Educacion with me. She was part of the Trio in our ward and now she´s a part of my trio in this ward. Life´s really interesting. One interesting part is that all three of us have been companions of Hna Goulding so we have a bunch to talk about. It´s a whole lot of fun.

This past Saturday was the Mexican Independence activity in the ward and man was it fun! We brought Mauro who is a new investigator and he brought a friend and we all went to the activity and had a blast. All of the organizations performed a number or did poetry or skits or a video and it was awesome. Mexican music and traditional dancing and whatnot and I realized yet again that I am in love with Mexico. I was dumbstruck by the awesomeness of their culture and believe me when i tell you that I´ll be teaching everyone about it when I come home.

Church was really cool for no particular reason this week. I mean, the sacrament bread was pancakes but other than that everything seemed normal but I wasn´t normal. Not in a bad way but in a good one. There was way more focus in the Sacrament this week and I felt different this time. I could actually understand more about the Sacrament and it´s something I hope each and every one of you can feel this week. Do something different to allow yourself to understand more.

I love you all and hope you have an excellent week!

Rain and Success

Dear Fam,

Hey you Guys! Guess what? life`s as great as ever as a full time missionary. There`s always some ups and downs but just like any good rollercoaster, it`s a bunch of fun. Hna Ponce and I are really happy with all the progress we are finally getting to see here. This week we`ve found the needs of so many people and are working really hard to meet them all. We`ve got lots of less actives who are now going to church and an investigator named Mauro who`s really progressing. He`s got a strong desire to be baptized and we`re working hard so he can reach his goal.

I hope you all know that in the mission, sometimes there are some ups and sometimes there are some serious downs. I was having a down the other day because I couldn`t see how all of our work was helping the ward and our investigators progress. Because really, all you want in the mission is to see the fruits of you work. Nothing else. So I get to church this week and the bishop`s 11 year old son comes up to me and hands me a note. I opened it up and this is what it said.
From Osmar
For Hna Hier
Hi hna Hier thanks for making it so there are new members in the ward. Thank you very much.
De Osmar.
I was shocked and it was priceless. The Lord even sends little kids to answer our prayers! I know he loves us and helps us grow as much as we can.
I love you all so much!

Cambios!!! Who woulda thought?

Hey Fam!!!

Glad to hear that you guys are back into the swing of things. Life´s been real interesting here in Padierna and in Del Valle.

So here´s the scoop, Hna Hernandez is now in Cafetales!!! WHHHHAAAATTTT????? Crazy. so she´ll be taking care of my old ward. It´ll be awesome! And I´m with Hna Ponce in Padierna. Super cool! We´ll be tearing it up here in Padierna for the 15 of September which is, for those of you who don´t remember, Mexican Independence day. Double cool!

This week was super interesting. We went to Del Valle again and surprise! They decided to take Hna Ponce out and put Elders in. Crazy. And so Saturday we spent cleaning and cleaning and cleaning the department and getting everything ready there so that life would be good for the newbies. And the recent convert of Hna Ponce gave us Mahi Mahi and other fish for free. Of which we made sushi. BUT!!! Before that I met in person a lovely fish named, BARRACUDA!!!! Obviously, I couldn´t contain myself and started sing the song Barracuda from (someone) and the Heartbreakers. (I don´t remember everything...) It was legendary. And awesome.

Then we made sushi today and it was lots of fun. Hna Hernadez was really sad to go from Padierna but we knew it was gonna happen because of her knee. But i know she´ll have a blast in Cafetales.

I love you all and will be giving updates on how life goes!

Love,

Hermana Hyer
